Back to Back Excitement!

This week we celebrated the birth of both of our boys! Ethans b-day is March 22, 2004 and Aiden Joseph delighted us with his presence on March 23, 2007 at 4:36p.m.

We celebrated Ethans 3rd b-day with a Rumble in the Jungle Party! We really got into the details of planning this one and were glad b/c Ethan was excited about every single thing! Especially his cake! I showed him the box of the cake I was going to make the night before and he got so excited and kept asking me to open it and when I did he looked at me perplexed and disappointed b/c he really thought what I was going to pull out was a frosted cake but instead he saw a bag of cake mix!

Our 2nd birthday celebration of the week: On Friday morning of March 23rd I woke up w/ contractions that were 5min apart right off and they were pretty intense in pain. I wanted to wait before I rushed to the hospital so in the mean time I vacuumed, swept, and made the beds I called Ben and updated him and told him to wait not to rush home b/c it could be false labor. Well 10mins later he told me he was on his way thankfully he didn't listen to me (he works about 1hr away). As soon as he got home we rushed to the doctors office and I could tell my midwife was a bit skeptical b/c I was just there the day before and I wasn't dilated at all and was still technically 2wks away, but this is a different story she proceeds to check me and I was dilated at a 5 and admitted to the hospital.
I had already decided this delivery was going to be all about taking advantage of the drugs available (I didn't have any last time it was 30hrs long) so needless to say I was excited about this decision. Well, after pretty much a relaxing, pain free 9hr labor time Aiden came joined us in one long push. It's hard to push when you can't feel your legs or the pain, that was weird. We had one scare and that could of been detrimental but God protected him. Little did we know but his cord was wrapped twice around his neck and during my contractions he moved a certain way that made his heart rate go down the nurse and staff came in to start shifting me around until the heart rate came up again. When did he wrap this cord around his neck? I don't know but God's hand was keeping it loose enough until he joined us. Praise Him!
